Cristallus Islandica, also known as Cris, is a Gemsona made by Silk and owned by purikins.

Personality[]

Cris is calm, and metitative. She enjoys silence, and peacefulness, thinking that if all beings perform these acts, all worlds will be at peace. She is defective by Homeworld standards, and would've been executed if it wasn't for the brave acts of Indigo and Blue Chrysoberyls, who were fighting during their rebellion. As a sign of gratitude, Cris joined and fought for them; however, this seemed ineffective, as the Gems still lost. As she would not join Homeworld again, she went into the middle of a wood, in solitude...

Weapons & Abilities[]

Cris has the normal abilities of any Gem, including shapeshifting and fusion.

Unique Abilities[]

  • Teleportation: Cris has the ability to teleport; however, she usually uses it only when fighting, and even then at comparatively short distances.
  • Levitation: Cris has the ability to levitate a few feet from the ground; as her Gemstone is on her foot, she prefers to do this. Oddly, she always does this in a lotus position.
  • Pyrokinesis: Cristallus can create and manipulate blue fire.

Relationships[]

Blue Calcite (Pokemonboy3000)[]

Cristallus and Blue Calcite have a somewhat stable relationship. When at the Gala, Cris brings all of her attention on Blue and her emotions, and tries to help Blue not feel like an outcast, or not a center of any universe. She also dances the Bon Odori with her, letting herself go on the ground, as if she trusts Blue Calcite enough to not kill her. Blue Calcite mostly seemed distracted and irritated about her not being noticed by everyone, however when she heard what Cristallus said to her, she blushed, as no one had ever spoken to her the same way before.

Trivia[]

  • She was made for the Halloween Gala; I probably won't use her after that.

Gemology[]

  • Cristallus Islandica is the latin name for Iceland spar.
  • It is a form of calcite, the primary difference being that it is optically clear.
  • It is named after Iceland because it was first recorded in there. However, it can be found in many other locations.
  • Calcite, like most carbonates, will dissolve in most forms of acid
  • Aragonite will change into calcite if it is exposed to temperatures of 380-470 degrees Celcius
  • Calcite is the most stable form of polymorph, unlike aragonite and vaterite
  • Calcite has been experimented with for a variety of purposes such as gun sights in WW II and a cloak of invisibility
  • Calcite can be found in most sedimentary rocks, particularly limestone
